Vinabenny Energy Joint Stock Company will invest $260 million to build Vietnam’s largest LPG refrigerated terminal in the southern province of Long An early next year.

The terminal will have a total storage capacity of 85,000 metric tons of LPG, including 78,000 metric tons in the first phase. The hoped facility is slated for first operation in the second quarter of 2013.
It will consist of berths to receive with capacity of 50,000 metric tons and two propane and butane tanks with a refrigerated LPG storage capacity of 34,000 metric tons each, and four pressured LPG tanks with capacities of 2,000 metric tons each.
Vinabenny Deputy General Director Nguyen Lan Phuong said Vietnam’s current storage capacity is equivalent to 20 days of consumption while the demand would be huge after 2020.
The country’s current largest refrigerated LPG store, which is run by the state-owned PetroVietnam Gas Corp (PV Gas), has a capacity of only 6,600 metric tons. (VIR)
