On October 25, 2012, the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance (MoF) in cooperation with the Australia’s Association of Certified Public Accountants (CPA Australia) organised a conference entitled “Sharing experience in audit quality control in Australia.” This event was part of the cooperation programme framework for the 2012 - 2015 period signed between CPA Australia and the Ministry of Finance.

The workshop aimed to share Australia’s experience in audit quality control and potential applications in Vietnam before issuing guidance documents to instruct the implementation of the Law on Independent Audit.

The workshop delved into topics related to the contents of the Law on Independent Audit proposed by the Ministry of Finance. Notable contents include functions and organisational structure of departments responsible for independent audit service quality control; criteria to select companies and individuals to perform service quality control; independent auditing; qualification standards and responsibilities of the head and members of independent audit service quality control.

This is an opportunity for participants to ask questions and seek answers to their existing problems. CPA Australia experts’ experience and knowledge shared will also contribute to the making of guidelines documents for the implementation of the Law on Independent Audit and to the development of independent audit market in Vietnam.
