Vietnam Tourism Needs 1.4Mln More Professionals by 2010

Vietnam's hospitality industry will need at least 1.4 million more regular employees by 2010 to meet the demand of the market, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
 
Schools training hotel, tourism management and hospitality skills are being widened to provide practical knowledge.
 
Coordination between schools and hotels in hospitality and tourism training programs is also further tightened to provide practical experience for students.
 
These efforts are being stepped up as the country expects to serve 5.5-6 million international visitors and 25-26 million local travelers by 2010.
 
Vietnam now has 234,000 direct and 550,000 indirect workers in the hospitality industry, equal to 2.5 per cent of the country’s total workforce. (VNA)
