British ICI US$19.8 Mln Paint Factory Begins Operation in Vietnam

ICI Paint Vietnam joint venture company, a unit of British-owned ICI Paints Corp, September 20 started operating a paint factory worth US$19.8 million in the southern province of Binh Duong, state media reported Friday.
 
The facility covering an area of six hectare in the My Phuoc II Industrial Zone has been the largest project of ICI Paints Corp. in Asia over the past ten years, said John McAdam, ICI Managing Director.
 
With ICI Dulux’s modern production line, the new factory is designed to produce 24 million litters of high-quality decorative paint such as Dulex Weathershield, Dulex 5-in-1, Dulux Easyclean and Dulux Supercover both for domestic sales and exports, he noted.
 
ICI has been operating two factories since 2002 it entered and built the first factory in Ho Chi Minh City.
 
ICI paint Vietnam J.V Co. is running 2,000 retailers, five distributors and 5 trusted agencies. It gained over US$600 million in revenue in 2006. (VnExpress)
