HP Vietnam Bolsters IT Cooperation with UVB

Hewlett Packard Vietnam has recently signed a memorandum of understanding on information technology cooperation with United Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank (UVB). Accordingly, HP Vietnam will help UVB develop corporate IT optimisation.
HP Vietnam will help UVB to develop flexible IT infrastructure for business development. At the same time, the company also pledged to assist the lender to train operators and maintain the IT equipment for UVB to develop core banking system.
 
HP will also help UVB to determine IT requirements, provide suitable training courses and shares experience in IT system administration and operation with the bank. In the finance and banking sector, HP is the supplier of IT platforms for world-leading financial and banking institutions such as Bank of America, HSBC, American Express, Deutsch bank and major stock exchanges in the world.
 
Ms Tran Thi Minh Thuan, Director of HP Vietnam, said “The New York Stock Exchange has opted out HP servers to speed up online securities trading. And, according to an independent survey, more than 95 per cent of transactions on the capital market are run on HP technological platforms.”
 
United Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank was set up in 2007 in Ho Chi Minh City. The lender now has a legal capital of VND3,300 billion and six branches. The commercial lender will operate in corporate credits and retail banking. HP is the first choice as an IT partner because the firm is one of the largest IT firms in the world, with annual revenues of US$104.3 billion in the 2007 fiscal year ending on October 31.
