Kumho Tire, the world’s leading tyre maker, hosted a ceremony inaugurating its tyre production factory in Binh Duong Province on March 5.

The Kumho Tire’s plant in Vietnam has investment capital of US$200 million. It covers 315,000 square metres and is capable of manufacturing 3.15 million tyres annually. In the coming time, the company will explore the market and raise output to 13 million units a year. The workforce will be then increased from 800 to 1,500 workers.

The project is part of Kumho Tire’s global strategy. It will play a core role in penetrating the Southeast Asian market. Kumho also has plans to inaugurate rubber factories in Vietnam, to ensure inputs for the plant and expand operations in the country.
