Vietnam’s exports of pangasius products to Australia are expected to continue increasing in the coming months because Australian consumers are very interested in Vietnamese pangasius, according to the Vietnam Trade Information Center (VTIC).
Exports of pangasius accounted for more than 55.2 per cent of Vietnam’s total seafood revenues and 37.6 per cent of volume to the country in the first three months of 2008, the Vietnam News Agency said.
Between January and March, Vietnam exported 4,360 tons of seafood products valued at US$20.35 million to Australia, with 2,400 of which were pangasius worth US$7.6 million, up 39 per cent on year in volume and 25 per cent in value.
