The Ho Chi Minh City’s Investment and Trade Promotion Center has recently launched a VND1.2 billion (US$75,000) project to facilitate local enterprises to promote their products sales in the international market, Vietnam News Agency reported May 28.
The three-year project will help products meet international standards, train marketing experts for exports, and offer support to local companies to penetrate into new markets, said the center’s head Truong Trong Nghia.
The city wanted to further accelerate exports to help reach a GDP growth rate of 12.7 per cent this year, said the municipal People’s Committee.
Currently, the center is cooperating with the Dutch Trade Promotion and Investment Center in a VND10 billion (US$625,000) project entitled Market Investigation System that will teach businesses how to use the internet and provide them information about potential markets and customers around the world.
Ho Chi Minh City reaped US$7.48 billion from exports in the first four months of this year, up 34.6 per cent on-year.
The figure accounted for 40.96 per cent of the country's total export value. (VNA, GSO)
