Nearly 130 foreign and domestic enterprises are expected to take part in Manufacturing Hanoi 2008 from June 5-8, state media reported on June 3.

The foreign participants will come from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, mainland China and Taiwan, the state-run Nhan Dan newspaper said.

The four-day exhibition is one of the largest industrial events held in Hanoi since the privatization of state-owned enterprises began and since Vietnam’s WTO entry.

The event will be a good chance for Vietnamese enterprises to get updated information on the latest machinery, equipment and advanced industrial technology, which can help them raise their competitiveness in the context of global integration.

Key machine tools and automation, plastics and rubber, and packaging and printing will be showcased on the exhibition, which will be co-held by the Vietnam National Trade Fair and Advertising Joint Stock Co. (Vinexad) and the Hong Kong-based Yorkers Trade and Marketing Service Co. (Pioneer, The People, VNS)
