A Vietnamese trade delegation led by Industry and Trade Minister Vu Huy Hoang will tour Egypt and Turkey in late October to boost trade ties, Vietnam News Agency reported.

As scheduled, the mission will attend meetings of the joint commissions between Vietnam and the two countries and hold business forums during their stay in the two, the agency said.

The delegation will be accompanied by businesses specializing in farm produce export, garments and textiles, footwear, fisheries, wood furniture, fine arts and handicrafts and natural rubber to explore market and carry out trade promotion in the countries.

Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Turkey should be widened to US$1 billion a year from US$400 million currently to meet the two nations’ potentials and wishes, said former Turkish ambassador to Vietnam Yahya Akkurt.

Meanwhile, two-way trade between Vietnam and Egypt stayed at US$103 million in 2007 and is expected to reach US$140 million in 2008, said the Vietnamese Trade Office in Egypt. (VNA)
