Vietnam reportedly reaped over US$40 million from exports to Chile in the first seven months of this year, up 25.9 per cent on-year, said Chile’s export-promotion agency (ProChile).
Sports shoes, shirts, coffee, printers and cotton fabric were among Vietnam’s key exports to the Latin American country.
During the seven-month span, Vietnam imported over US$65 million worth of commodities from Chile, an on-year rise of 3 per cent, said ProChile.
The figures brought the two-way trade between Vietnam and Chile to over US$106 million, up 9.6 per cent on-year, reported the agency, adding that Vietnam ran a trade deficit of over US$25 million with Chile during the time.
In 2007, Vietnam’s exports to Chile surpassed US$55 million and its imports worth over US$107 million. (VNA)
