French hotel operator Accor will continue to expand its operations in the hospitality market of Vietnam by soon launching the hotel brand Mercure to the country, state media has said.
Mercure Hue Gerbera, located in the central historic city of Hue recognized as a heritage site by UNESCO, will be the first Mercure hotel to join the network in Vietnam, the company says.
Mercure Hue Gerbera, which is scheduled to open in the first quarter of next year, will be the second hotel in Hue City operated by the group, after La Residence Hotel and Spa, Accor said.
Two additional Mercure hotels including Mercure Hanoi La Gare and Mercure Hanoi Hado are expected to join the Mercure hotel network in 2009 and 2010 respectively..
Accor is making developments in several second-ties: cities of Vietnam, from Lao Cai and Halong Bay in the North and Hoi An and Nha Trang in Central Vietnam to Phu Quoc in the South, Patrick Basset, Accor's vice presi dent for East and North East Asia, say in a recent statement.
Accor is expected to expand its network in Vietnam from eight hotels and resorts currently to at least 20 by the end of 2010.
The group now manages around 4,000 hotels in 100 countries and territories worldwide. (Vnbusinessnes)
