Vietnam Nets over 3.8 Mln Tons of Aquatic Products in Ten Months

Vietnam is estimated to have harvested 3.806 million tons of aquatic products in the first ten months of 2008, up 9.6 per cent against the same period of last year, according to the General Statistics Office.

The office said the total included 2.06 million tons from aquaculture farms, up 19.1 per cent, and 1.746 million tons from fishing vessels, up 0.2 per cent.

During the Jan-Oct period, Vietnam notched up US$3.83 billion from exporting seafood, up 23.7 per cent on year. (GSO Oct Edition)
