World Bank Official: Vietnam Should Avoid Costly Duplication of Investments

Martin Rama, the Acting World Bank Country Director in Vietnam has warned in the World Development Report 2009: Reshaping Economic Geography that Vietnam should avoid a costly duplication of investments.
  
Vietnam should focus on regional development planning, supporting the comparative advantage of different part of the country, he said.
 
The World Bank report also pointed out that integration should be pivotal concept in the policy discussions involving the local of production, people and poverty, debates on urbanization, regional development and globalization. (WB Press Release)
