Consumer prices of Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City are forecast to be up 0.03 per cent on month in March while CPI of Hanoi is predicted to drop 0.07 per cent, the General Statistics Department has said.

The department attributed the hike in CPI of Ho Chi Minh City to rises in prices of food, foodstuff, housing and construction materials. Food and foodstuff was up 4.66 per cent and 1.43 per cent on month.

Meanwhile, the drop in CPI of Hanoi was pulled down by foodstuff, post and telecom, and construction materials.

CPI of Hanoi is still up 12.34 per cent on year, the department said. (Saigon Liberation, News)
