Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has just approved the establishment of a national committee to prepare for Vietnam’s ASEAN presidency in 2010.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem will chair the 19-member committee.
The committee will focus on instructing and coordinating ministries, state agencies and localities in preparing for conferences and activities of the ASEAN bloc and those between ASEAN and its partners to be held throughout the year. (People’s Army, The People)
