Circle K, an international chain of convenience stores in the U.S., has recently marked its presence in Vietnam by opening five stores in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City.

The company plans to launch five more convenience stores in Vietnam by year’s end, and develop its retail markets in other localities such as Hanoi, Danang, Nha Trang and Can Tho in the coming years.

Circle K will start franchising for Vietnamese firms when it raises the total number of convenience stores to 100 in 2011.

The company has to date had over 7,000 convenience stores worldwide. (Vietnam Economic Times, Young People)
