Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism sector gained revenue of VND16 trillion (US$941.176 million) in the first six months of this year, up 10 per cent on-year despite witnessing a sharp fall in the number of international visitors.
Between January and June this year, the city welcomed 1.34 million foreign tourists, down 10 per cent on-year, said the Vietnam Administration of Tourism.
HCM City aims to serve about three million international arrivals and earn tourism revenue of VND34 trillion in 2009, a 10 per cent on-year rise. (New Hanoi)
