The southern province of An Giang has so far this year welcomed more than four million visitors. However, the number of lodgers and travelers accounted for some 180,000, down 3 per cent on-year. The figures show the local tourism sector’s weaknesses.
The province is now calling investors into 10 tourism projects. It will offer favourable conditions for investors to carry out the projects, including a project to develop Sam and Nui Thanh Mountains into national tourism resorts, projects to Sap-Oc Eo Moutain and Tra Su Indigo Forest Eco-tourism Resort and supporting operations of the two community tourism resort of My Hoa Hung and Chau Phong.
