Vietnam Customs Sector Collects US$2.76B for State Budget in Jan-April

The Vietnam General Department of Customs has said its tax collections for state budget soared 39.2% from year earlier to VND52.194 trillion (US$2.76 billion) in the first four months of 2010.
 
Revenues from import-export duties and special consumption taxes rose 12.4% on-year, and VAT collections up 71.4%, according to the department.
 
The customs authorities aim to collect VND142 trillion for the state budget and retrieve VND1 trillion overdue tax debts in 2010. (New Hanoi)
