Vietnam-Germany Trade Forecast to Reach $5B This Year

Trade between Vietnam and Germany is forecast to reach around $5 billion in 2010, including the Southeast Asian nation’s trade surplus of between $2 billion and $2.1 billion.
The bilateral trade in 2010 will rise around 10% from a year earlier, Cyril Null, head of the Asian Department under the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs told.
Of the sum, Vietnam will export between $3.5 billion and $3.6 billion worth of goods to the European country, up 9% and 12% on-year and import $1.5 billion, up 7%.
Seafood, apparel, footwear, coffee are Vietnam’s main exports to Germany while machines and equipment, pharmaceuticals and chemical products are its major imports. (Vietnam Economic Times)
