Vietnam Forecast to Export 700,000 Tons of Cement, Clinker in 2010

Vietnam is likely to export between 200,000 tons and 250,000 tons of clinker in Nov and Dec, raising the country’s total cement and clinker export volume to 700,000 tons this year, the Ministry of Construction (MoC) said.
 
The country exported 470,000 tons of cement and clinker in the first ten months of 2010.
 
America, Africa, Asian countries and the Middle East currently are the main export markets of Vietnam.
 
Vietnam’s cement sales rose 12% on-year to 40.4 million tons between Jan and Oct, fulfilling 80% of the full-year target.
 
The nation imported 1.8 million tons of clinker during the period, including 50,000 tons in Oct, the ministry added.
 
Vietnam’s cement consumption is forecast to stand between 50 million and 51.5 million tons in 2010, up 11% from a year earlier. (Construction, People’s Poplice)
