Vietnam welcomed more than 4.06 million foreign travelers by air last year, up 34.2% from a year earlier, the National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said on its website.
The number accounted for 81.2% of the total international tourists to the country in the year, it added.
In December, the Southeast Asia country received 365,070 international visitors by air, up 4.8% on month and 19.1% on year.
Vietnam’s aviation market has recovered faster than expected thanks to a sharp growth in the number of passengers, said the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV), forecasting that the growth would continue in upcoming years. (
