Hanoi Knitting Company: A Favourite Vietnam Trademark
With 70 per cent of its products exported (including 50 per cent to Japan and the remaining 20 per cent to Russia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and the US), the Hanoi Knitting Company has found confirmed itself as a major trademark in international markets.
Set up in 1996, the Hanoi Knitting Company specialises in knitting Rib stocks, Jacquard stocks and embroidered Rib stocks for both children and adults. It is considered a leading enterprise in the Vietnam textile and garment industry. The company has been voted as a Vietnam high quality goods company for six years in a row and received a silver prize for its products in 2000 from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment. In 2000, the company was presented with an ISO 9002 quality management certificate.
Considering the quality of products as a decisive factor for the company's existence and development, the Hanoi Knitting Company has concentrated on renewing its equipment and technology in four of its workshops, including two knitting workshops, one dyeing workshop and one finishing workshop, while putting into operation a production line for knitting, dyeing, drying and finished products. Each step in production has its own quality control section in order to remove low quality products. The company has focused on designing products and has developed a department for market study to analyse the customer tastes and trends so as to fully tap the potential of the market, whilst increasing revenues and profits.
Apart from quality, the Hanoi Knitting Company has paid great attention to lowering the prices of its products by cutting input costs. In the past, the company mainly used cotton and acrycotton fabrics imported from China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Thailand. In order to increase its competitiveness the company, now, uses 70 per cent of locally-made materials of the same quality.
Having been aware of the importance of trademarks, it has boosted trade promotion activities via domestic and international fairs, exhibitions and seminars. The company has also focused on promoting its sales in the domestic market, as it believes that, to become a strong trademark internationally, the company's products must be accepted by Vietnamese customers.
With an aim to offer the best quality products to its customers, all the staff members of the Hanoi Knitting Company are exerting great efforts in the development of the Vietnam textile and garment industry, so that its products are widely accepted and its trademarks become a top Vietnam trademark in international markets.
