Singaporean Foreign Minister to Visit Vietnam

At the invitation of Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, his Singaporean counterpart K. Shanmugan will pay an official visit to Vietnam from September 8-10. This will be his first visit to Vietnam as the Singaporean Foreign Minister.
 
Singapore is one of Vietnam’s leading trade and investment partners, with two-way trade turnover of US$6.2 billion in 2010 and US$4.4 billion in the first half of 2011.
 
As of July 2011 Singapore had 938 projects with a total investment capital of US$23.2 billion, ranking third among 92 countries and territories investing in Vietnam.
 
Meanwhile the framework agreement on economic links has been efficiently implemented, while Vietnam–Singapore industrial parks (VSIP) are being expanded.
