The Vietnam – Singapore Business Forum 2013 (VSBF 2013), one of the activities to commemorate 40 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore this year, will be hosted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) together with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) on April 17-19, 2013 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The business conference is organized with support from the Singapore Embassy in Hanoi, the Singapore Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City, International Enterprise Singapore (IE Singapore), Singapore Business Group (SBG) and Development Strategy Institute – Ministry of Planning and Investment.

VSBF 2013 is a significant event, which will help build closer economic ties between Singapore and Vietnam. Speaking in support of this event, Singapore’s Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Ng Teck Hean, said that VSBF 2013 is an excellent platform for the business community on both sides to network and explore new investment opportunities in Vietnam and Singapore, and even jointly in third countries as well. VCCI Vice President, Dr. Doan Duy Khuong, believes that VSBF 2013 will further contribute to the excellent relationship between Singapore and Vietnam, particularly the business links between the two countries. VCCI will continue to encourage investments from Singapore in key sectors of the Vietnamese economy.

Commenting on VSBF 2013, Mr. Ho Meng Kit, CEO of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) said: “The VSBF is one of the many platforms which have helped strengthen partnerships between our business communities. SBF is pleased to co-host the forum with VCCI and hopes this platform will deepen existing relationships and open up mutually beneficial opportunities for both Vietnam and Singapore businesses. This year, Singapore and Vietnam commemorate 40 years of close bilateral ties. The signing of the Strategic Partnership agreement later this year will further spur new areas for cooperation and collaboration and we look forward to the opportunities our businesses can tap into”.
Added Mr. Tan Soon Kim, Group Director for Southeast Asia, International Enterprise (IE) Singapore: “Strong bilateral ties between Singapore and Vietnam governments have set the stage for business opportunities and partnerships between both countries. Within Asia, Vietnam offers long-term growth potential in selected sectors, a good endowment of a demographic sweet spot, and rich agri-mineral resources. In turn, Singapore companies offer services and expertise that complement Vietnam's strengths.  Singapore companies continue to remain engaged for the long term and we continue to promote Singapore’s active participation to contribute to Vietnam’s growth”.

Held as a three-day business forum, this premier event aims to encourage and enhance business activities between leading Vietnam and Singapore companies. Panelists and participants include an exclusive group of business leaders, industry experts, policy-makers and government officials from both Singapore and Vietnam to provide professional insight and updates on business opportunities in Vietnam and Singapore.

VSBF 2013 will focus on four panel discussions which will be moderated by industry leaders, experts and government officials centered on the key industries of real estate financing, healthcare services, tourism as well as manufacturing and logistics. Participants will also take part in business matching sessions while browsing around the exhibition booths, with an option to attend site visits to industrial parks and hospitals.
