Vinh Long province will focus on attracting investment projects to accelerate urban development to raise urbanisation rate to 28 percent by 2015.
Vinh Long City, the capital of the province, will reach 50 percent of standards for a second-grade urban zone in 2015. Tra On and Vung Liem towns will reach 70-100 percent of standards for fourth-grade urban zones. The province will also set up four new urban zones, namely Tan Quoi, Phu Quoi, Cai Nang and Huu Thanh.
