VCCI, Hanoi Sign MoU on Cooperation

The Hanoi People’s Committee and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) have recently signed a memorandum of understanding ( MoU) on cooperation in Hanoi.
 
Accordingly, the two sides will jointly carry out investment, trade and tourism promotion activities to improve the investment environment, the business environment and the local competitiveness; support domestic and foreign companies to expand production and business activities, especially in the current tough time of economic slowdown; build up the business community and promote the role of entrepreneurs in the current context of accelerated industrialisation, modernisation and international integration under the spirit of the Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW of the Politburo dated December 9, 2011.
 
The two sides also agreed on cooperation programmes in 2013 and subsequent years. Specifically, both sides will build up an information exchange mechanism on a monthly, quarterly basis to inform and introduce investment potential and prospects in Hanoi. The capital city of Vietnam will facilitate VCCI members to participate in investment, trade and tourism promotion activities organised by the city in general and by VCCI in particular.
 
VCCI will coordinate and support the Hanoi People's Committee to connect with local governments and study production and business development requirements of enterprises. VCCI and Hanoi will jointly establish the Council of Hanoi Business Associations and FDI Entrepreneur Club.
