Retail petrol prices were cut for the first time in 2015, decreasing by VND310 per litre from 16:30 of January 6th, according to the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex).
After the reduction, petrol RON95 is charged VND18,170 (US$0.85) per litre, while petrol RON92 and bio-fuel E5, a mixture of 95 percent petrol and 5 percent ethanol, cost VND17,570 a litre.
Meanwhile, a litre of diesel and kerosene were cut by VND360 and VND290 to VND16,630 and VND17,110, respectively.
In 2014, petrol prices were increased five times and cut twelve times since July with a total reduction of VND7,769 per litre.
