Binh Duong Gets US$4.4 Bln Trade Surplus in Jan-Aug

Binh Duong province earned over US$18 billion from exports in the first eight months of 2017, up 17.2 per cent year on year, while it spent US$13.6 billion on imports in the period, said the local Department of Industry and Trade. Thus, the province enjoyed a trade surplus of US$4.4 billion in the January - August period
Mr Nguyen Van Danh, Director of Binh Duong Department of Industry and Trade, said the department actively supported local businesses to join trade promotion and product marketing events and assisted them in dealing with emerging issues in production and business. Hence, the province maintained its trade surplus momentum in the year to date. Key exports of the province included wooden furniture, garment and textile, leather and footwear.
