Southern Binh Duong province’s GDP has averagely increased by 14 per cent per year in the period of 1996-2004, eight years after its establishment, and its industrial proportion has been much higher in its economic structure, stressed Mr Nguyen Hoang Son, Chairman of the Binh Duong People's Committee.
In 2004, industrial production rose by 34.1 per cent, accounting for 63.3 per cent of GDP, and agricultural density stood at only 10 per cent. The most highlighted point of the province was the effectiveness of investment attraction activities. The province is home to 12 industrial parks with a total area of 2,421 hectares to date, creating 250,000 jobs, and of which nine have had 70 per cent of their area filled.
