Industrial parks in Vinh Phuc province have gradually improved environmental protection to attract clean production projects and become a favorite destination for major domestic and international investors.
To boost environmental quality in industrial parks, in addition to enhancing environmental management and legal training for public employees at all levels and business leaders, the Vinh Phuc Provincial People’s Committee has decentralized and assigned tasks and responsibility to each specific unit and agency; raised the quality of environmental inspection and supervision, resolutely handle environmental law violators; and rejected environment-threatening investment projects. The province has facilitated site clearance and arranged locations for construction of waste treatment plants.
Currently, all the industrial parks in Vinh Phuc province have centralized wastewater treatment systems with a design capacity of about 18,800 cubic meters a day. Industrial parks also have environmental protection divisions responsible for operating wastewater treatment systems and closely tracking waste discharge of tenants. In addition to its internal control force, the Vinh Phuc Industrial Parks Authority has kept regular coordination with interagency bodies on environmental inspection and promptly handled violators. Furthermore, the Vinh Phuc IPs Authority has planned to embellish and plant trees on internal roads in industrial parks and required each tenant to dedicate at least 10% of its area for trees, water surface and roads.
Viet Duc Steel Pipe Joint Stock Company, based in Binh Xuyen Industrial Park, used certain spaces to plant trees right after it built factories; constantly invested in advanced technologies and modern techniques and strictly controlled environment management and production standards using Japanese 5S programs. Currently, the company possesses 38 modern production lines using advanced automation technologies imported from Europe and Japan, especially cutting-edge hot-dip galvanized steel pipe lines, considered the most modern in Vietnam, that ensure environmental safety in production.
In order to minimize environmental pollution and protect worker health, Prime Group Joint Stock Company (Binh Xuyen Industrial Park) also actively invested in state-of-the-art production technologies and reformed operating processes towards cleaner production. Prime Group's factories all strictly comply with international management systems for product quality as well as occupational health and safety. Mr. Chaiyaporn Supanya, HR Director of Prime Group Joint Stock Company, said, environmental safety is one of leading factors in the company's production process. Therefore, all machines meet international standards, such as ISO and OHSAS. In the coming time, the company will continue to invest in modern machinery to create environmentally friendly products.
To meet green industry and sustainable development goals, it is very important to have the cooperation of the whole community, and timely settlement of measures from the authorities to prevent and stop violations. Vinh Phuc province will take practical action to create green areas and ensure environmental protection in industrial parks.
