Bac Giang LGG Garment Corporation has effectively performed the dual goals of maintaining business operations and preventing the COVID-19 epidemic.

Since the fourth COVID-19 outbreak in Bac Giang in early May 2021, the leadership of Bac Giang LGG Garment Corporation has adopted many solutions to ensure the dual tasks of maintaining business operations and preventing the epidemic. The corporation prevented infections in factories; maintained stable business; and ensured workers' livelihoods.

Besides, the corporation accelerated factory expansion in Tuyen Quang province where the epidemic was mild. In Bac Giang province which was the epicenter of COVID-19 epidemic, Bac Giang LGG Garment Corporation clearly identified its limitations and strengths; assessed employees’ bravery, creativity and spirit of overcoming difficulties.

The firm still witnessed revenue growth, maintained supply chains and production value chains, and ensured life, health and jobs for employees in the first nine months of 2021.

General Director Luu Tien Chung said, promoting its achievements, the corporation will constantly strive to become a multi-business group in which textile is the core. To materialize this goal, it will gradually shift from simply outsourcing to undertaking high value-added stages (FOB, fashion design and domestic consumption). At the same time, the corporation will accelerate information technology application to "digitize" smart and sustainable factories.

“Vietnam’s extensive economic integration and entry into free trade agreements have brought a lot of opportunities for the textile and garment industry. Grasping opportunities, we will maximize our internal resources and flexibly adapt to catch up with market trends,” he said.

Box: In addition to running the corporation, General Director Luu Tien Chung is currently a member of the Bac Giang Provincial People’s Council; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS); and Chairman of the Bac Giang Young Entrepreneurs Association (2021 - 2024 term).

Bac Giang province has focused on administrative reform in the past years to give a facelift to the local business environment and enhance provincial competitiveness, he said. For that reason, it attracted a lot of investment capital, ranking No. 7 in foreign direct investment (FDI) flow in the country. Besides, the province is recovering very quickly from the COVID-19 epidemic and controlling it well.

“In the coming time, the province needs to maintain the speed of investment attraction to extend its sustainable growth; focus on directing and supporting investment projects effectively; develop full infrastructure for ecological industrial zones; and prioritize environmentally friendly projects that make high value-added products,” said Mr. Luu Tien Chung.
