China and local agencies co-organized the third Chinese Exhibition on Education in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam on March 13 to seek more Vietnamese students.
The event drew the attendance of 33 famous universities from China, including the General University, Science and Technology University, Medicine, and Teachers Training Universities.
"Visitors would have the opportunity to understand more about the schools, as well as the educational system in China so that they could make the right decision about which universities to attend," an exhibition organizer said.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), nearly 500 Vietnamese students received scholarships granted by China to further their study in the foreign country in the last 13 years.
Vietnam now ranks the fourth largest among countries reporting overseas students in the foreign country. As many as 6,000 Vietnamese students are currently studying in China.
