Thai-owned Surint Omya Chemicals Vietnam on March 24 inked a deal with Poslilama Engineering & Construction to build a US$7 million calcium carbonate factory in southern Vietnam.
The factory, to be built in the Go Dau Industrial Park in Dong Nai Province near Ho Chi Minh City, will annually produce 45,000 tons of calcium carbonate for use in the plastics, paints, paper, and rubber industries.
It is expected to be operational by this year-end.
Surint Omya is a subsidiary of Surint Omya Chemicals Limited, Thailand’s largest manufacturer of calcium carbonate.
