The Dry Cell and Storage Battery Joint Stock Co. (Pinaco) will pour VND208 billion (US$13 million) in building a battery plant in southern Dong Nai province.
The planned facility will have an annual capacity of 900,000 kWh.
Pinaco, the largest dry cell and battery producer in Vietnam, signed the deal with Tan Tao Investment Joint Stock Company to lease more than 60,000 sq.m of land in the Nhon Trach Industrial Zone for the plant.
Pinaco expects the plant, once fully operational in 2015, will double its current battery output.
The company targets to produce 315 million dry cells and nearly 1 million kWh of batteries this year. (Vietnam & World Economy, VNA)
