The US commercial counselor to Vietnam Miguel Pardo de Zela has committed to support the woodwork industry of central Binh Dinh province boost exports, after his survey seeking investment opportunity in the province.
The counselor appreciated the high quality and diversified design of Binh Dinh’s outdoor furniture during his work with two local woodwork enterprises, namely Anh Viet Trade Co. Ltd and My Tai Co. Ltd, and pledged to provide information to US firms wanting to do business in Binh Dinh.
Binh Dinh is one of four biggest woodwork processing and exporting provinces in Vietnam, beside southern provinces of Binh Duong, Dong Nai and HCM City.
In 2006, the local woodwork industry exported more than 121,475cu.m of refined wood and 150 tons of tiny wood, earning US$150 million.
The province is expected to increase total export revenue from woodworks to US$170 million in 2007 and US$330 million in 2010. (Trade,
