HCM City Boosts Socio-economic Ties with Dong Thap

Le Hoang Quan, Mayor of Ho Chi Minh City, in late March signed an agreement on socioeconomic cooperation with Dong Thap Province for 2007 to 2010.

Under this cooperation, Ho Chi Minh City will support Dong Thap Province-headquartered companies doing business in Ho Chi Minh City’s industrial zones and export processing zones, like Domesco, Imexpharm, Dong Thap Housing and Industrial Zone Investment and Development Company.

The city and the province will share experience planning industrial parks to avoid waste and make full use of land and human resources. Also at the signing ceremony, concerned units signed 11 “Dong Thap - Ho Chi Minh City” memoranda of understanding. Several Ho Chi Minh City-based companies pledged huge investment into Dong Thap Province. Companies of the two localities also agreed to exchange business opportunities and experience in technology transfer, scientific study and scientific application.
