It has pledged to finance US$3 million for a master plan on Cat Ba Island, and a deal is expected to be reached late this month, the press noted.

The investment will be sourced from the foreign country’s Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Handong budget and other investment banks.

Lach Huyen seaport is designed to accommodate vessels of up to 80,000 TEUs and have annual cargo throughput of 60 million tons when operating at full capacity. It will serve as an international gate seaport and a large transit port for the whole of northern Vietnam. (Investment)
