An Giang Fisheries Import Export JSC, or Agifish, has become the only seafood company in Vietnam to receive the national trademark award, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (Vasep) said.
Agifish will receive supports from the government in promoting its trademark and registering for industrial design. The company’s products will also be labeled with the Vietnam Value.
The Vasep said more than 1,000 companies had registered for taking part in the program.
Agifish said it will pay dividend at 12 per cent, however the date of payment was not announced.
In 2007, the company acquired a net profit of VND39.58 billion (US$2.47 million) out of gross revenue of VND1,246 billion (US$77.87 million).
Last year, Agifish exported 21,247 tons of seafood. The company will invest more than VND183 billion (US$11.43 million) in modern equipment to increase production capacity and improve the quality of its products in order to expand export this year to 30,000 tons. (Vasep)
