Located on over 4,000 square metres in the centre of Quy Nhon City (central Binh Dinh province) looking towards the East Sea, four-star Saigon-Quy Nhon Hotel boasts favourable geographical location and convenient and romantic atmosphere. To help tourists know more about the hotel, correspondent of the Vietnam Business Forum had an interview with Mr Nguyen Van Minh, General Director of Saigon-Quy Nhon Hotel.
Can you give an overview of the hotel’s operation?
Saigon-Quy Nhon Hotel was officially put into operational in September, 2005. The hotel is the first four-star hotel in the province with 148 well-appointed rooms. The hotel has been recognised as one of 20 most outstanding architectural works in the national renewal process and was awarded certificates of merit by the local tourism sector in recognition of its great contributions to the development of the local hospitality sector from 2003 – 2007.
Despite short-term operation, the hotel has affirmed its prestige in the hospitality market. The hotel has welcomed many delegations from central agencies and foreign investors who came here to attend national and regional conferences. The Saigon-Quy Nhon Hotel has partnered with more than 300 domestic and foreign travel agents. Many foreign travel firms choose the hotel as a destination for their tours.
Can you reveal advantages and achievements of the hotel?
As a luxury four-star hotel located in a favourable location, the hotel is now one of favourite destinations for tourists to the province. High-end hotel rooms looking to the sea and delicious food are always available at the hotel. Visiting the eight-storey Seaview Restaurant, visitors will enjoy delicious dishes and wonderful and peaceful landscapes of the sea and the city at night. Vietnamese traditional and European dishes are always available at Imperial Restaurant.
At the first floor of the hotel where is Diamond Conference Hall is the ideal place for conferences and important events. In addition, the hotel also covers other services such as Cheery Bar, Health Club Complex, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, karaoke, massage area…
Other typical feature of the hotel is friendly attitude of the staff who has been trained professionally.
To improve competitiveness, what has the hotel done?
In order to raise the hotel’s competitive capacity and improve its service quality, we have poured investment in human resources training so as to have a professional workforce.
We have also upgraded hotel services and build facilities such as Beauty Salon. Diversifying dishes and entertainment services, promoting its image, and boosting cooperation with other organisations and individuals are also paid attention to.
Moreover, we have planned to pour more investment into upgrading infrastructure and opening more services at Genh Rang Tourist Site to turn it into an attractive destination for local and foreign arrivals.
As a professional expert in the local hospitality sector, what do you think about Binh Dinh Tourism sector?
With traditional culture and beautiful landscapes, Binh Dinh owns big potentials for tourism development…The province is also home to many tourist areas such as Cat Tien Beach, Hoi Van Hot Spring, and many small beautiful islands…However, the problem is that the province has not tap the potentials effectively. Binh Dinh has not built closed tourism services and has few entertainment services for tourists.
According to me, in order to sustainably develop the local tourism sector, Binh Dinh should invest more in upgrading tourism services, human resources training, protecting and preserving traditional relics and historical sites, raising more flights from Binh Dinh to other provinces and cities to better serve tourists’ demand. In addition, the province should also pay attention to tourism promotion campaigns to advertise its image and potential.
