Vietnam Fiber Optic Company (VFO) will break ground for construction of a fiber optic plant in the southern province of Binh Duong today, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.
The US$176 million plant, the most modern in the region, will use technology from Israel’s Ultra Pure Core – IJL Ltd.
VFO, founded last August, said the four-hectare plant would be the first in Vietnam to produce optic cables from silicate and pure gas as the domestic demand is rising. (Investment, Vietnam Economic Times)
