Vietnam Adds 5 IPs in Tay Ninh to Master Development Plan by 2015

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has agreed to add five industrial parks (IPs) in the southern province of Tay Ninh into the list of national top-priority IPs to be established by 2015.
 
The IPs namely Hiep Thanh, Bau Hai Nam, Gia Binh, Cha La and Thanh Dien will cover a combined area of 1,150 hectares, the government said on its website.
 
Vietnam now has 228 IPs, including 162 operational ones but only 48% of them have been occupied so far, said Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dang Huy Dong.
 
From now to 2015, Vietnam will build an additional 91 IPs covering a combined area of 20,800 ha and expand 22 operational IPs, Dong added.
 
Local IPs have to date attracted 6,800 projects totaling $60.2 billion, including 3,600 foreign-invested projects worth $46.9 billion. (www.chinhphu.vn) )
