The state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) estimates its electricity production at 6.5 billion kWh in the first half of this year, up 68.83% on year.
The output surpassed 17.84% of the period target and completed 64.31% of its full-year plan.
The firm forecast it would produce 11.13 billion kWh of electricity this year, up 10.73% versus its earlier target.
Its affiliate PetroVietnam Power Corp (PV Power) plans to produce a total of 47.2 billion kWh of power per year by 2015, holding between 20% and 25% of the Vietnamese market share. (PVN)
