The Tay Ninh provincial People’s Committee has granted an investment licence to the Vietnam Green Environment Joint Stock Company to build a sewage treatment plant in Thach Duc commune, Go Dau district.

The VND 300 billion plant will be constructed on an area of 18 hectares in Thach Duc commune, including automatic sewage classification and treatment areas, landfills, and green areas with trees around the factory.

The plant is expected to process 300 tonnes of garbage per day when it begins operation in late 2012.

Its main task will be to collect and treat waste from Trang Bang and Bourbon-Hoa industrial zones and the Phuoc Dong Boi Loi industrial, urban and service zone.

This is the first modern waste treatment facility taking shape in Tay Ninh. In the past, garbage collected from industrial zones throughout the province was transported to Hiep Phuoc landfill in Ho Chi Minh City or buried on the spot, which did not meet environmental safety and hygiene standards.
