Located 50 kilometres northwest of Hanoi, Vinh Phuc province is blessed with breathtaking landscapes such as Tam Dao, Tay Thien, Dai Lai and Dam Vac. Especially, Tam Dao resort is rated as one of the most scenic tourism spots in the North of Vietnam.
Vinh Phuc also has nearly 500 historical and cultural spots, an human resource important in attracting tourists. Typically, Binh Son Tower in Tam Son commune, Lap Thach district is a unique architecture work built in the Ly dynasty. In addition, there are other monuments such as Hai Ba Trung temple in Me Linh, Tran Nguyen Han temple in Lap Thach District, 79 Spring Hill in memory of Uncle Ho, Tay Thien Quoc Mau Temple, Sang Son Mountain, De Tham Cave, Bay Waterfall and Van Truc Lake, which all create an attractive landscape complex.
Vinh Phuc has a dense river and lake system, which not only brings economic value but also creates a good environment for tourism development. Vinh Phuc province is also known as a land of spiritual masterpiece. The beauty of this land has been imprinted in the mind of many tourists when coming here, seeing old houses which become more and more attractive through the ups and downs. Many villages still maintain traditional craft handed down through generations, which now is the development resource preserving the identity of the locality and bringing economic benefit to the locality.
Currently, Vinh Phuc Tourism is submitting the proposed scheme asking for active support of authority of all levels in the province with the desire to bring tourism a spearhead economic sector, thereby, taking advantage of opportunities and implementing solutions to mobilise investment capital for tourism development such as investing directly in tourism, developing tourism products, strengthening the application of scientific research on developing tourism products and encouraging the application of science and technology information on tourism development. The scheme also asks the province to facilitate tourism enterprises to directly get involved in science to facilitate the development of tourism in the area, encourage tourism businesses to participate in activities training tourism human resources and strengthen supporting programs to raise awareness for people in tourism development.
Under Resolution 01 on tourism development (2011 – 2020 period) of the province, the views and objectives set out are developing sustainable service and tourism, in accordance with the overall strategy on development of Vietnam’s service towards 2020 and of the key northern economic area, which is the Red River Delta. At the same time, it is important to develop sustainable service and tourism towards modernisation, international and regional integration, preserving and promoting cultural and ethnic identity, ensuring national defence and security and protecting ecological environment with a view that by 2020, Vinh Phuc will become one of the key tourism centres of the northern region with facilities and technical infrastructure proportional to the key tourism areas of the country.
To achieve this goal, many solutions have been suggested by Vinh Phuc province. In particular, planning key tourism routes and services is paid due attention to. First of all, it is important to exploit possible routes and tourism destinations in the province and connect tourism with neighbouring provinces. Along with that, it is also essential to develop suitable tourism products which can adapt to multiple objects of tourists.
In addition, the province is also enhancing the activeness in integration and international cooperation to promote trade and tourism potential, attracting investment for tourism development, protecting environmental resources, conserving and promoting cultural values, and developing tourism sustainably.
