Through many ups and downs, Son La’s Department of Tax has increasingly asserted its position, creating milestones in the traditions of the taxation industry. Within less than 3 years, tax revenue of Son La’s Department of Tax gradually increased, reaching VND2,000 billion in 2013. The Tax Department will promote honourable traditions to gain more success in the future.
Looking back over 24 years of construction and development, Son La’s Tax Department has always received much attention, leadership and direction of committees, governments at all levels, the Ministry of Finance, General Department of Tax and the close collaboration at all levels of the industry, especially the effort, solidarity and dedication to the officials and organisations in the Provincial Tax Department. To reach its current achievements, the unit has gone through a very tough period as the infrastructure was underdeveloped and the lives of the majority of people were mainly in difficulties, so revenue from tax was also insignificant. In 2010, the Provincial Tax Department ranked among the top 5 on tax collection speed. 2011 was the first year in which Son La’s Tax Department was honoured to participate in the VND1000 billion club. In 2013, revenues of the province reached VND2000 billion, increasing 16.8 times compared to 2000. This was the year that Son La’s Department of Tax was granted the Third-Class Independence Medal for its achievements in 5 years from 2008 to 2012. Following its glorious tradition, the Tax Department in Son La province is expected to get VND2,400 billion by the end of 2014.
