Hau Giang Province’s People’s Committee and Malaysian Toyo Ink Group initialed a contract for the Song Hau 2 Thermal Power Plant Project, the largest-capacity project in Viet Nam with 2,000 MW.
It is the crucial mark to acknowledge the cooperation between the two sides, said Chairman of Toyo Ink Group Song Kok Cheong.
Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Province’s People’s Committee Trinh Xuan Thanh revealed that the province will closely coordinate with investors and relevant sides to soon launch the project, which will be carried out under the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model.
In 2012, the group was allowed to invest in the 2,00MW plant in the form of BOT for 25 years starting from 2021.
According to the group’s calculation, the US$3.5 billion project will generate a revenue of about US$970 million when it becomes operational in 2021.
