Lao Cai Apatite Co. Strong Development in New Period

Lao Cai apatite mine are located on the right bank of the Red River. The mine, with a total length of 100 km and 4km wide lies 300 km to the northwest of Hanoi. Lao Cai apatite mine was one of the first industrial units in Vietnam, and was honoured by a visit from President Ho Chi Minh on September 23, 1958. Since then, the company has set September 23 as its traditional Day.
 
With the great efforts of the company’s staff, Lao Cai Apatite has firmly developed and was recently granted many award titles. Since 1995, the company has exploited 8 million tonnes of ore of all kinds and 100,000 tonnes of NPK.
 
In 2004, the company was awarded a First Grade Labour Medal from the State president and many diplomas of merit from the government. The company has taken steps to diversify its products and has further invested in NPK fertiliser production and the construction of a yellow phosphate factory.
 
In recent years, the company has focused on renewing transport and exploitation equipment and enhancing the efficiency of its Tang Loong ores-selecting line. Apart from boosting production, the company has also paid attention to improving working conditions for employees. The company is committed to ensuring social and economic policies to labourers and reducing environment pollution.
 
The company has also been keeping a close eye on the quality of its products and enhancing co-operative relationships with other enterprises and customers with the aim of meeting the demand both about quantity and quality of its customers. The company has to ensure enough materials and equipment for smooth production.
 
To prepare for the country’s further integration into the world economy, the company is investing in equipment and improving the technical skills of its workers and improving the management quality of staff. This is also a preparatory step in fulfilling tasks set for the 2005-10 period which has targetted industrial production growth rates of more than 10 per cent annually.
 
Taking full advantages of a50-year tradition, the company is determined to reach even higher achievements. The company has recently brought out measures to boost its growth, including improving the efficiency of the power of management and focusing on strong economic results. It is also intensifying technical management and the application of new scientific developments into production in order to have enough Apatite to meet local demand.
 
The company is currently seeking to expand to new markets and intends to export to foreign markets, on the other hand, plans to take full support from State management bodies to further its development.
