The event was held over five days (from May 9 to 13), featuring 50 booths and more than 500 OCOP products representing regional specialties from Hanoi and 21 provinces and cities nationwide, including Son La, Quang Nam, Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Hung Yen, Phu Yen, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Tien Giang, Da Nang, Cao Bang, Khanh Hoa, Ha Nam, Tuyen Quang, Quang Ngai, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Can Tho, Dak Lak, and Phu Tho. Hanoi itself hosted 20 booths showcasing more than 100 OCOP products.

Mr. Ngo Van Ngon, Deputy Chief of Office in charge of the Hanoi Office of Coordination for New Rural Construction, delivered the opening speech

At the event, Ngo Van Ngon, Deputy Chief of the Office in charge of the Coordination Office for the New Rural Development Program of Hanoi, stated that Hanoi has vast potential for agricultural development. It boasts the largest scale of agricultural production in the country, with over 153,000 hectares of rice fields, 34,000 hectares of vegetable farms, 24,700 hectares of aquaculture, and livestock populations including 1.5 million pigs and 42.3 million poultry.

Currently, Hanoi has 1,336 agricultural cooperatives, 1,574 farms, 172 production-consumption chains, more than 164 high-tech agricultural models, and over 14,000 agricultural, forestry, and fishery products that have been issued traceability codes (QR codes).

With its rich cultural heritage, the capital is home to 1,350 craft villages, accounting for 40% of such villages nationwide, making it a fertile ground for developing OCOP products.

In terms of cuisine, many regional and family culinary traditions have reached a level of recognized excellence. These local specialties hold significant economic value and reflect a unique cultural identity.

These favorable conditions provide strong potential for Hanoi to effectively implement the OCOP Program. Since 2019, Hanoi has evaluated and classified 3,317 OCOP products (accounting for 21.3% of the national total), including 6 five-star products, 22 potential five-star products, 1,571 four-star products, and 1,718 three-star products—making it the leading locality in the country in terms of OCOP product quantity.

This event is of great significance. It offers a valuable opportunity for OCOP producers from Hanoi and other localities to network, promote their brands, and foster trade connections. The overarching goal is to continuously enhance productivity, product quality, and the capacity of OCOP entities, while helping consumers better understand and appreciate these products.

Products are widely welcomed by the people of the capital
